Overview

Our Mary Poppins–themed Musical Theatre class takes place every Monday from 15:30–17:00 and is led by our Musical Director Erika. Running weekly until the end of the Summer Term, this after-school class is designed to introduce students to the joy of musical theatre in a supportive and confidence-building environment.

Through a mixture of singing movement drama games and creative exploration students will develop core musical theatre skills while having lots of fun and working collaboratively as an ensemble.

Across the term students will have the opportunity to:

  • build confidence performing in front of others

  • develop basic singing and vocal projection skills

  • explore character and storytelling through movement and drama

  • learn musical theatre foundations in an age-appropriate and engaging way

  • work as part of a supportive ensemble led by a professional musical theatre practitioner

The class focuses on process rather than pressure, making it ideal for students who are new to musical theatre as well as those who already enjoy performing and want to build their skills further.

All of the work will culminate in a relaxed final performance at the Summer Fair, giving students the chance to share what they have learned with family and friends in a celebratory and low-pressure setting.

No previous experience is required — just enthusiasm curiosity and a willingness to join in.
